If you have experienced a significant emotional loss whether that loss is due to death, divorce or any other loss/losses, recent or past, this is an opportunity for you to meet with other grievers, both men and women, in a safe, caring and supportive environment. Our goal is to assist each other in the healing through grief process.

This is a 14 week program held twice annually. The first two meetings are open to all newcomers. Then the group is closed for those willing and able to continue the process for 12 additional weeks. This is not a therapy group. It is a structured program with weekly assignments designed to guide and support you through the grieving process and beyond loss. There is NO CHARGE for this group and no pre-registration is required. Just arrive at the first meeting at 6:00pm.

If you plan to attend, please purchase the book The 20th Anniversary Expanded Edition of the Grief Recovery Handbook by John James and Russell Friedman which is available in all local book stores or on

New groups will start in August 2019:

The next Grass Valley group will be open to newcomers August 15, 2019 and August 22, 2019.

The Roseville group will be open to newcomers some time in August 2019. Check back later.
If you or someone you know needs assistance before Aug. 2019, we recommend you do an Internet Search for Therapists providing grief work, Grief Counseling, and Grief Support Groups in Nevada County or Placer County.  There are more resources available that may fit your needs. If you don’t have Internet Services we recommend you go to your nearest public library for internet assistance.
